WordPress 2.2 “Getz” is now available. Go get it! It’s totally worth upgrading. Here is Stan Getz and Dizzy Gillespie playing It Don’t Mean a Thing if it Ain’t Got That Swing to listen to while upgrading, you’ll be done before the song is. (29)

Hey Matt, I’m sure a lot of us would like to read a write up on the reasons why you switched WordPress from Prototype to jQuery. :)

Oscar Peterson, Ray Brown, and Max Roach providing support. Sweet.

Loaded! No issues.

There would be a new version just two weeks after I finally take the 2.1 plunge. Any word on how this release will affect theme and plugin compatibility? It seemed like the jump from 2.0 to 2.1 caused a lot of authors to revamp their code.

Man he’s good….

I’ve never heard it played like that.

No wonder they called him dizzy…

Thanks for this AND WP 2.2!

It’s a great upgrade.

Only problem is ExecPHP plug-in can only be used for one widget. Widgets 2 through 9 just repeat code from first widget. (And I had nine.)

Congrats on the release! Let us hope that the release schedule is smooth and easy and regular from now on.

Hi Matt,

Just upgraded WordPress from 2.1.3 to 2.2. On trying to run the upgrade script kept getting fatal error file not found, wp-settings line 84 which is the call to advanced-cache.php

If you don’t have this plugin installed the upgrade fails. I was able to delete three lines from wp-settings.php (Lines 82, 83, 84):

// For an advanced caching plugin to use, static because you would only want one
if ( defined(’WP_CACHE’) )
require (ABSPATH . ‘wp-content/advanced-cache.php’);

This may be because we once used advanced cache plugin.

Thanks for all the hard work, WordPress is the greatest!

I’m holding off on any updates for awhile. Just got my blog the way I want it, and would rather learn from the mistakes of others than from my own at this time.
